First Friday ArtWalk Events 

You'll find a variety of galleries, shops, restaurants, music venues, and places of all kinds celebrating the First Friday ArtWalk in Downtown Knoxville. Here's what's happening on Friday, March 3. [Many of the same venues will have events in April. Visit again before April 7 for details.] In addition to these specific events, you'll find restaurant specials, shops with extended hours, and many locations with complimentary refreshments. You'll also find street performers and great people watching.

So come take a walk...or ride a trolley...and support the arts in our community!

Emporium Center

The Emporium Center is the hub of activity for every First Friday ArtWalk. Start or end your evening here…just don’t skip it! Each month, you’ll find three floors of new exhibits, live music, working artist studios, and more. Opening reception 5-9pm. Admission is free. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Meet the artist and view the artwork. Exhibition hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

On Mar 3, the Arts & Culture Alliance is pleased to present a new juried exhibition of mixed media works by 27 members of the Depot Artists Association in Abingdon, Virginia. You’ll also find The Art of Surrealism by Jose Roberto, whose paintings are influenced by his love of architecture, graphic novels and the great masters; New Work by Coral Grace Turner, including hand screen printed fabric and needlepoint; New Beginning by Joe Bracco; and Vintage Re-Inventions: Steampunk Creations by Eric Holstine, Jason Lambert, and Jason Edwards.

Art Market Gallery

Mar 3 at the Art Market Gallery will feature artists painter Marjorie Horn, and a group exhibit of clay artists - Hugh Bailey, Gray Bearden, Bob Conliffe, Anne Dally, Larry Gabbard, Patricia Herzog, Eun-Sook Kim, Lisa Kurtz, Karen Kyte, Amber Anne Palo, and Linda Sullivan. UT Downtown Gallery

The UT Downtown Gallery is pleased to feature Kevin Everson during the month of March.

With a sense of place and historical research, Kevin Jerome Everson’s films combine scripted and documentary moments with rich elements of formalism. The subject matter is the gestures or tasks caused by certain conditions in the lives of working class African Americans and other people of African descent.

An opening reception will be held on Mar 3 from 5-9pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Tori Mason Shoes

Tori Mason Shoes is pleased to welcome back Robert Thompson to showcase original music and new art for March First Friday! Robert creates dreamlike images of words -- ideas --  that appear as realistic physical objects in outdoor settings.
