First Friday ArtWalk Events 

You'll find a variety of galleries, shops, restaurants, music venues, and places of all kinds celebrating the First Friday ArtWalk in Downtown Knoxville. Here's what's happening on Friday, July 7. [Many of the same venues will have events in August. Visit again before August 4 for details.] In addition to these specific events, you'll find restaurant specials, shops with extended hours, and many locations with complimentary refreshments. You'll also find street performers and great people watching.

So come take a walk...ride a free trolley...and support the arts in our community!

Look for the trolley marked ArtWalk! It's FREE and will take you beween Market Square, Gay Street and the Old City.

Emporium Center

The Emporium Center is the hub of activity for every First Friday ArtWalk. Start or end your evening here…just don’t skip it! Each month, you’ll find three floors of new exhibits, live music, working artist studios, and more. Opening reception to meet the artist and view the artwork from 5-9pm with complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Most of the works are for sale. The reception also features live music at 7pm. Exhibition hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Admission is free.

On July 7, the Arts & Culture Alliance is pleased to present Knoxville Photo 2017, an exhibition featuring selected works from 37 artists throughout the region depicting all subjects and genres, including streetscapes, cityscapes, landscapes, environmental portraiture, portraits, abstracts, and more; Eight Artists of the Vacuum Shop Studios including works by Eleanor Aldrich, Heather Hartman, Kelly Hider, Ashton Ludden, Erin Mullenex, Chelsie Nunn, Deborah Rule, and Jessie Van der Laan in a variety of media such as painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking, and fiber work; Christine Parkhurst - Diverse Clay: Pots & Poems, a display of clay busts, bowls, vases, and animal forms with some of her poetry; Acrylic Paintings by Tracey G. Crocker, owner of Wine and Canvas Knoxville; and Silas Reynolds: In the moment, an abstract painter using bold colors and shapes to create highly energetic works of art with acrylic, spray paint, latex enamel, pastel, and other media.

Art Market Gallery

July 7 at the Art Market Gallery will feature clay works by long-time area artist Eun-Sook Kim and photography by new Art Market member Synthia Clark, along with original art and fine crafts from more than 60 East TN artists. An opening reception for the featured artists will begin at 5:30pm with complimentary refreshments and live music in the foyer.

Pretentious Glass Co

On First Fridays, Pretentious Glass will showcase the latest series of glassware in the front gallery of the working studio. From 6-9pm you'll also find free demonstrations in the studio, where you can catch the artists creating anything from a specialty beer glass to a decorative vase. It's art in action!

Tori Mason Shoes is pleased to present artist Taylor Carlisle and her current loom weaving on July 7 from 6-9pm. Complimentary treats from Wild Love Bakehouse will be provided. Carlisle's art will be featured for the entire month of July.

Marble City Kitchen and The Firefly

It's going to be a busy night at Marble City Kitchen and The Firefly at the Hilton Knoxville on July 7. You’ll find featured artist Carl Gombert, a free and lightly amplified summer concert series "The Firefly Sessions" with The Tree Tops, and culinary and mixology demonstrations from the Marble City and Firefly Team. Plus, Jamamerican Jerk Centre in the Food Truck Zone for late night dining. 7pm-midnight.
