Residential Parking

The City of Knoxville and the CBID facilitate the Residential Parking Permit Program. Designated residential parking zones (RPZ) are strategically located where residential development is prominent. With a permit, full-time residents in an RPZ can park near their homes without paying meters. Each residential zone is clearly marked with signage on the parking meters

In short-term parking spaces, permitted vehicles may park up to the maximum time limit during the day and unrestricted overnight. Several spaces within the RPZ are designated as long-term parking for residents, allowing unrestricted parking up to 24 hours. Long-term parking spaces are located along the Gay Street viaduct, Vine Ave behind the Crown Plaza and Locust Street close to the fire station.

Residents may park in designated spaces in the Coliseum parking garage without time restriction.
Anyone who is a full-time CBID resident and owns a vehicle is eligible. Only one permit per residential unit. Permits are $125 per program year, per vehicle which will be prorated per quarter. Make checks payable to the City of Knoxville. Please display permit in the front driver's side windshield.
