Celebrate East Tennessee History at ETHS History Fair
Date: 08/19/2009The East Tennessee Historical Society will celebrate our region’s history and the 175th anniversary of Society’s founding in a BIG way on August 22 during the 2009 History Fair.
The fair will include a living history timeline, historical and genealogical groups from the regions’s 35 counties, and live traditional music from WDVX and the Clayton Country Music Stage There will be historical craft demonstrations, storytelling, and children’s activities including Davy Crockett’s birthday party, trolley tours to downtown’s historic homes, and vintage movies playing at one of Knoxville’s historic theatres. Free tours will be offered at the East Tennessee History Center’s new exhibition Voices of the Land: The People of East Tennessee.
