Holiday Season Just Around the Corner
Christmas in the City is back for a celebration of the holiday season throughout downtown Knoxville. Numerous downtown events are planned, including some old favorites and some new attractions.
Regal Celebration of Lights – November 23, 6 p.m., Gay Street at Krutch Park – In addition to the lighting of the 38-foot tree on Market Square, the evening features entertainment, food and holiday crafts, and a visit from Santa Claus.
WIVK Santa Claus Parade – December 7, 7 p.m., Gay Street – This traditional event welcomes Jolly Ole St. Nick to downtown Knoxville and features a selection of high school bands, dancers, floats and local celebrities.

Narnia Comes to Downtown Knoxville
In celebration of their 10th anniversary, The Actors Co-op will produce “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” as a children’s theatre production at the Bijou Theatre November 23 – December 3. In addition to matinee performances for schools, public performances will be held on November 24, 25, December 1 and 2 at 2p.m. and November 23, 24, 30 and December 1 at 8p.m. “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” is adapted from C.S. Lewis’s “The Chronicles of Narnia”. This production faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never to be forgotten Narnia. This story of love, faith, courage and giving, with the triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.

Holidays on Ice is Back
Time to lace up for Knoxville's Holidays on Ice. The festive family fun returns in 2007 for a third season. U.S. Cellular presents Knoxville?s Holidays on Ice beginning November 23rd and running through January 1. This season will feature new special events including:
* Monday night skating with the Ice Bears * Free skating lessons sponsored by the Ice Chalet on Tuesday evenings * Wednesday nights - B97.5 Family Night * Skate with Santa on Thursday night * "Coffee and Curling" on Saturday mornings
In its first two seasons, more than 37,000 skaters and 50,000 spectators from all over East Tennessee experienced this one-of-a-kind event in the heart of downtown Knoxville.
