Help us celebrate Mardi Gras Growl Week in Downtown Knox. A week of food, fun, and festivities for all ages plus four-legged friends. Downtown restaurants, bars, and boutiques will be celebrating with events and specials beginning the last weekend of February and continuing through Barc’hus Fat Tuesday until the Mardi Growl Parade and Festival on Saturday, March 4.

Gumbos, Jambalayas, Rémoulades, and Oysters. Bread Puddings, Pralines, and Beignets. Jazz, Zydeco, Cocktails, and Fun. Beads, Beads, and More Beads. And…for the 10th year...a Mardi Growl Pet Parade and Festival!

The 10th Annual Young-Williams Animal Center Mardi Growl Parade starts at 11am on Saturday, March 4 in the Old City with a Festival from noon-2pm on Market Square. Pre-register your pup by February 28. Find the details and come join the fun!

Where to park? Downtown Knoxville has over 5,500 free parking spaces on weeknights after 6pm and on weekends. Once you've parked, hop on the FREE trolley to get all around downtown. The green line runs between Gay St and the Old City with stops about every 10 minutes.

Old City Wine Bar

Oh my! Oh my! Old City Wine Bar is celebrating Mardi Growl Week in true Mardi Gras style!

All week you’ll find Crawlfish and Andouille Étouffée over Dirty Rice, Smoked Duck Sausage topped with Roasted Red Pepper Alligator, Cajun Crab Flatbread, and Crab Tater Tots with Poblano Ranch. Monday night is 1/2 off all bottles of wine $65 and under and Happy Hour is Monday thru Friday from 4-7pm. Check the calendar for a wine class or tasting on Thursday.

To celebrate the day with fellow animal lovers the day of the parade and festival, Saturday, March 4 will have an early opening at 3pm. Old City Wine Bar is also the presenting sponsor for the Young-Williams Animal Center parade and festival, so drop in and show your appreciation for their puppy love.
