Spring Cocktails Not to Miss
Spring brings fresh flowers, new beginnings, and most certainly, refreshing cocktails! Sip easy on a rooftop, patio, or swanky lounge — there's a seasonal craft cocktail for everyone.
Floral and fruity, or bright and crisp? We've got it.
Bernadette's Crystal Gardens
The collection of cocktails at Bernadette's is just as vibrant as the inside of the crystal-filled bar. Most are fresh, juice-based cocktails featuring all the colors of the rainbow with floral and fruit accents. Their signature, the Amethyst, is a gin-based cocktail with fresh grapefruit topped with torched rosemary. Other favorites include the Garnet with whiskey, pomegranate, and honey crisp apple and the Moonstone, a creamy blend of rum and blue flower blossoms. Hello Spring!
Blackhorse Pub & Brewery
Blackhorse is more than beer. They also create epic seasonal cocktails! Try one of their six spring cocktails called Strawberry Fields with vodka, elderflower liqueur, sparkling wine, bitters, house-made strawberry puree, and fresh squeezed lemon for a sweet, citrusy, and bubbly drink. Or, the crisp and refreshing Green Tea Mojito with light rum, simple syrup, muddled mint and lime. The seasonal menu also includes Pear Blossom, Watermelon Mule, Raspberry Bramble Martini and Orange Mint Blossom Martini.
Not only is it spring cocktail season...but it's patio season too! We love Café 4's patio for so many reasons. But today, we love it because we can enjoy a Main Squeeze cocktail from our table's own punchbowl while overlooking Market Square. Enjoy a sunny day with a glass of gin, blood orange liqueur, blood orange juice, elderflower, lemon juice, and basil simple. And if you stop by for brunch, order the Creamsicle Mimosa and thank us later.
Drawing Room at the Tennessean Hotel
In the mood for peach this spring? Try the Drawing Room's Isn't She Just a Peach — their signature Sweet Peach Noir tea syrup with peach puree, lemon-infused vodka, and topped with Prosecco. And don't overlook their Smoky Mountain Peach Margarita with tequila, lime, Cointreau, agave, house-smoked peach puree, and a smoked Serrano pepper salt rim.
Five Thirty Lounge
Five Thirty Lounge has an abundance of easy-sipping cocktails for the season. Take in views of Downtown Knoxville with a Knox City in hand, made of apple whiskey, sweet amber Vermouth, and herbal honey bitters. The Cameo is also a yummy, fresh one with lemon and thyme. The Honey-Suckle features whiskey, lemon juice, and a blueberry-honey reduction. And lastly, the Pinky Up is green tea-infused rum (with local Jackson Ave Tea Co Green Tea), brûlée’d pineapple, coconut, pineapple juice and lime. There are so many good ones to try you're going to be on this rooftop more than once this spring!
Kefi has so many great cocktails, that we recommend ordering a cocktail flight to try as many as you can! In the mood for something rich and comforting? Try Fool's Gold with gin, orange curacao, lemon juice, spiced apple shrub, and bitters. Another yummy spring option is the fresh and lively Crocus 75 with gin, apricot brandy, lemon juice, saffron simple, and a splash of champagne. If you haven't tried a famous Kefi cocktail yet, it's time.
Knox Whiskey Works
When the forecast is sunny and 75° (Who are we kidding? Regardless of the weather!), head to Knox Whiskey Works! The Cherry Limeade featuring their Marble City Pink Gin is the way to go! And they have plenty of other options, like the Spring Spritzer with Jackson Ave gin, fleur de vie, cucumber, fresh mint, lime, and ginger beer and a delicious Strawberry Vodka Lemonade.
The Lost Tavern
You might not be flying anywhere this spring, but you can fly away with the Aviation cocktail from the Lost Tavern. It's a classic gin cocktail made with Broker's Gin, crème de violette, fresh lemon juice, and maraschino cherry liqueur. Settle in on their Market Square patio and pair the cocktail with assorted cheeses, mustards, sliced apples, crostini and crackers. You'll have spring weeknight bliss.
Maple Hall has a ton of great cocktail options. But how about their new mocktails! The bartenders have created some truly special drinks that will leave you wanting more. The Approach has pomegranate juice, mint simple syrup, sparkling water, and pressed lemon, while the Dafino has pineapple juice, dragonfruit syrup, and sparkling water. The Lebowski boasts cold brew coffee, vanilla simple syrup, and Cruze Farm milk. And the Spritz has orange syrup, immuno boost, orange juice, pressed orange and sparkling water. If you're bowling at Maple Hall or enjoying the back patio at the Maple Room ...all we can say is "Yum!"
Oliver Royale's mixologists create a complete menu of fresh, seasonal cocktails at the start of each season – and this spring might be the best yet! We're excited to try Cloudy With a Chance of Gin with gin, lime, tonic syrup, shaken with mint and an egg white. As well as the Cattywampus with matcha-infused gin, green chartreuse, lemon and honey. With more than a dozen creations on the spring menu, there's something for everyone. And don't miss the dessert cocktails. We're starting with the Raspberry Beret with cognac, half & half, vanilla, and muddled raspberries.
Peter Kern Library
Peter Kern Library was voted your favorite place to get a cocktail in our Instagram Cocktail Battle. And this spring, they're not going to disappoint! New additions to the menu include a Kiwi-Infused Mezcal Daiquiri, a Honey Dew Gin Fizz, and a Scotch Sour with muddled beets and fresh basil. And then there are the classics like The Holly GoLightly, the longest running resident of their menu. Made with house infused strawberry-raspberry vodka and fresh lime juice, lavender liqueur, house-made strawberry bitters and Prosecco, she's crisp, tart, and refreshing. Just what you need for spring!
PostModern just dropped six signature cocktails for their seasonal spring list, and they can't be beat! Try the In-Between which mixes their house-made Giniferous Gin (citrusy with a hint of lavender) and their Subrosa Liqueur (delicate floral flavors of iris and hibiscus) with elderberry and lemon. Combine a craft cocktail (or two) with a sunny day on their fabulous patio, and you've got yourself a 10/10!
Pretentious Beer Co
Does a beer slushy qualify as a cocktail? We say yes!! Pretentious Beer is starting spring strong with one of the coolest Beer Slushies they've ever made! Pucker up for the Sour Peaches & Cream Slushie made with their Candi Shop, a Berliner Weisse made with 6 pounds of peach rings per barrel. Their patio is also rocking!
Radius Rooftop Lounge
Radius Rooftop Lounge is a gorgeous place for gorgeous cocktails. New cocktails are added to their menu so often, you'll want to come back every weekend! Right now, we're loving the perfectly hand-crafted Blackberry Mojito, a refreshing cocktail of rum, mint, and sweet and tart berries. It's the perfect compliment to a rooftop sunset.
Everything is "just peachy" over at Southern Grit this spring! True to their name, they serve up comforting fare from the south — even the cocktails! Order up the Just Peachy with peach vodka, lemonade, and tea for a refreshing twist on the Arnold Palmer. Or try the Blush & Bashful, a pretty-in-pink cocktail with lemon vodka, raspberry liqueur, and lemonade. Both pair well with a side of fried green tomatoes!
Stop by Knoxville's oasis for tropical cocktails for a list of cocktails so long — and so delicious — we can't name them all here. Tern Club's seasonal Chi Chi is one place to start with a frozen blend of vodka, cream of coconut, pineapple, and spices. The Nui Nui is also delicious with a blend of rums, vanilla, cinnamon, allspice and topped off with orange. Try the Cardamom Lemonade for a crisp and refreshing non-alcoholic option. Enjoy them on their patio for a perfect way to end a spring day.
Get below Knoxville's surface to visit a swanky cocktail lounge reminiscent of old Hollywood. This spring, we recommend taking a trip around the world with The Vault's amazingly curated selection of gin and tonics with herbal, fruity, refreshing and light options. Start with the Castle and Key London Dry Gin & Fever Tree Indian Tonic: a classic gin infused with juniper and a thoughtful selection of seven herbs and botanicals.
Wicked Chicken boasts that their chicken is so hot you'll swipe right. Chase it down with a freshly squeezed, bright blue Electric Lemonade with lemon vodka, curacao, lemon and sprite. Another good combo is the Wicked Behavior (bourbon, pineapple, and honey) paired with their wicked wedge salad. Welcome to spring!
It's Patio Season.
