Park & Get Around

Walk. Bike. Ride. It's easy to get around.

When considering where to live, it’s important to know how you’ll get around. We’re proud that Downtown Knoxville offers many great options. With a high walkability score, discounted resident parking, free trolleys, and more, drive into all the ways you can get around in Downtown Knoxville.

Resident Parking

Dedicated parking is available at many downtown residential properties. If your building does not have parking, you can enjoy half-price parking in several city garages with proof of residency. See a map of spots with discounted resident parking. Click through for details on pricing and contacts.

Walkable

With a Walk Score of 85, you can walk just about anywhere you want to in Downtown Knoxville in 15 minutes or less (take that, West Knoxville traffic). Most errands can be accomplished on foot, whether it’s a trip to the post office, hairdresser, bank, urgent care, courthouse, or of course, to the local coffee shop to see your favorite barista. It’s all within walking distance. Downtown also boasts beautiful, safe streets where you’ll enjoy running into friendly neighbors, walking to dinner, music, or a show; and incredibly easy access to events and festivals happening 150+ days each year.

Trolley

When you want to get somewhere quickly and car-free, the KAT free trolley is a great resource. With over 60 pick-up points in and around downtown, you can hop on the downtown trolley to get your groceries at Publix, attend a concert at Thompson Boling Arena, or catch a ride home from dinner. It’s also a great option when the weather doesn’t suit you. You can identify stops by their color-coded signs, and wait times typically range from 3-7 minutes, depending on the route. You can view the free trolley map here. Did we mention it’s free?

Bikes and Scooters

Biking is a great way to navigate downtown’s streets, and you’ll find bike racks at city garages, on the sidewalks throughout downtown, and most likely, at your building. They are a fun way to get around on a beautiful day! You can also rent scooters and e-bikes by downloading the app from LINK (Apple Store or Google Play) or Bird (Apple Store or Google Play).

Car Rental

You might decide to move here without a car, or your family might downsize to only one vehicle. That’s no problem! When you need a car, you can easily walk to convenient downtown car rental, and you’ll be on your way in no time.
