Trending Coffees This Summer

Food & Drink

Downtown's coffee scene is bursting with creative baristas whipping up decadent lattes, brews, teas, and even lemonades. We've collected some seasonal drinks throughout the Downtown district that are perfect for warmer weather.

Start sipping and find your favorite.

Awaken Coffee

Awaken is THE spot for seasonal drinks with a coffee and tea menu that's ever-changing and always creative. We're excited to try a refreshing Orangesicle Latte that takes us back to our childhood summers. We're also drooling over their Blackberry Dream, Rose Latte, and the Honeybear.

Café 4

Pinky up when you order Café 4's delicious Iced Vanilla Latte topped with whipped cream. It's an after-lunch or dinner indulgence that's sweet, creamy, and bold. Whether you're dining inside, upstairs, or on the patio, you won't regret taking a break from your day with this iced coffee!

Café Vicolo

Tucked away in an alley of off Gay Street, you will think you've found yourself in the romantic city of Florence. Café Vicolo is an Italian-style eatery offering locally-sourced, fresh-baked goods with sweet little outdoor tables to enjoy your morning cup of coffee. Their most popular drink on the menu is the iced Honey Lavender Latte, but you also have to try their summer special — Cold Brew with a splash of house-made vanilla sweet cream.

Coffee & Chocolate

Coffee & Chocolate is featuring a Lavender Vanilla Latte, served either hot or cold, all summer long. It pairs well with one of their new macaron flavors, including Strawberry Banana, Key Lime, Vanilla Blackberry, Blueberry Lemon, and Chocolate Cherry! Yes, please. They've also created a seasonal Blackberry Lemonade that's tart, sweet, and perfect!

Cruze Farm

Ice Cream or Coffee? Why not both! Order up Cruze Farm's Affogato, a shot of espresso poured over ice cream. The perfect pick-me-up, and really, we can't think of any better pair. They also carry iced lattes, bottled brown butter lattes, and coffee-flavored ice cream. We can feel the caffeine energy coming from here!

The French Market Creperie

We all know the French Market has perfect crepes, but did you know they also create seasonal drinks? Try their refreshing Sparkling Strawberry Agave Lemonade or Lavender Blueberry Herbal Iced Tea. They also have sparkling French sodas, an iced macadamia white chocolate latte, and hard lemonades. Just don't leave without their "Champagne Champion" t-shirt!

K Brew Coffee & Bagels

K Brew has a huge selection of refreshing drinks, and they're known to be creative! Their signature iced drinks are the famed Cinnamon Vanilla and Honey Lavender lattes, but don't sleep on the Coconut Cookie Mocha or Sweet Foam Cold Brew. They are also carrying Berry Patch iced tea, Coconut Madagascar White iced tea, and Mango Black iced tea. We want to try them all!

Mahalo Coffee Roasters

Hello vacation time! One sip of Mahalo Coffee Roasters' Iced Coconut Mocha will take you straight to the ocean. It's rich, smooth, fresh, and oh so yummy. Other seasonal drinks in the new Downtown coffee shop are the Lemonade Daydream with lemonade, passion fruit tea, and a splash of coconut milk, a banana berry smoothie, and a passion fruit lemonade refresher. Treat yourself to a drink and pair it with a slice of lemon-glazed carrot cake.

Matt Robb's Biscuits

Tucked away in a perfect little shop on Market Street, Matt Robb's is good on three things: brilliant biscuits like nowhere else (if he runs out he closes, so get there early), personal service (he's the barista who always knows your name), and great coffees. Cool off with an Iced Brown Sugar Latte on the patio paired with a build-your-own-biscuit with unique toppings like peanut butter, bacon, cinnamon, and honey.

Old City Java

At Old City Java, you won’t find seasonal frills…just some of the best espresso, teas, and pastries in town made with exceptional attention to detail. You can't beat a summer day on their patio tucked away in the Old City with an Iced Coffee (brewed hot and flash chilled over ice to preserve and highlight the character of the coffee) with a shot of crème fraiche caramel. Or, enjoy their Hibiscus Rooibos, a rejuvenating and tropical tea blend with tart hibiscus and zesty lemongrass. Don't forget your morning bun or fresh croissant!

Jacks of Knoxville

Enjoy a seasonal coffee on Jacks of Knoxville's outdoor patio, which will whisk you away from urban life to a hidden shaded spot in the trees. Their Rose Matcha Latte, a twist on the traditional green tea matcha latte, is crafted with locally-made rose syrup. A must-try this season! Plus, they are featuring Coffee Soda (a sparkling citrus espresso seltzer), a Honey Nut Latte (with Tennessee honey and coconut milk), and the Summer Special (a fruity cereal milk latte that’s fun and bright)!

Status Dough

What goes together better than iced coffee and doughnuts? We'll wait. Swing by Status Dough's Gay Street location for a seasonal lemon poppy seed doughnut paired with one of their iced coffees! Another must-try on the menu is a Blueberry Paczki paired with Kilogram Earl Grey Tea. And a Honey Lavender Latte with their dark chocolate ganache covered old fashioned is always a top choice.

Ruby Sunshine

Ruby Sunshine hails from New Orleans, and their Creamy Vanilla Spiced Latte is just as sweet and spicy as the city itself with bold espresso, vanilla syrup, milk and cream topped with whipped cream and nutmeg. Pair your iced drink with their perfect, and we mean perfect, all-day brunch (we see you peaches & cream beignets).

We've Got Seasonal Cocktails Too.

Some are refreshing, some bright, others a little naughty, but all are nice. Sip easy on a rooftop, patio, or swanky lounge — there's a craft cocktail for everyone.
