Alice in Appalachia gets even curiouser during Halloween with Smashing Pumpkins, a seasonal martini with vanilla-infused vodka, pumpkin purée and autumn spiced creme. Boozy pumpkin spice? Yes, please! Try one tonight, tonight!

Babalu

Beware, Babalu's famous sangria has undergone a dark twist. Drown your thirst with the scarlet red Blackberry Sangria – a wicked blend of red wine, forbidden blackberry, orange, apple, and brandy. Or satisfy your cravings with the Salty Apple – PostModern Giniferous, sherry, and apple cider.

Bernadette's

Bernadette's Wicked Witch of the West cocktail will take you on a wild ride high above Market Square! This blood-red concoction is made with tart pomegranate juice contrasted with sweet pineapple juice, punchy ginger beer, and spiced rum with a cinnamon sugar rim. We have to say: it's a pretty clever name for a drink at Bernadette West’s bar!

Bethie Lou's

Bethie Lou’s Fabulous Gift Shop in the Old City has unique Halloween Treats and Décor to spook up your spaces. You’ll find candies, candles, cute pumpkins, books, adorable and spooky party napkins, and everyone’s favorite—Halloween mermen! Drop in for free candy and truly special treats.

Bistro at the Bijou

Eat, drink, and be scary at Bistro at the Bijou, where they have some of the best cocktails making us feel very Halloween-ish! One of the most popular is the Caramel Apple Martini with caramel vodka and apple cider, as well as the Corpse Reviver with white wine, orange-flavored liqueur, lemon juice, and absinthe rinse. Others not to be missed are the Dark & Stormy and Autumn Mule, both with a ginger beer base.

Boyd's Jig & Reel

Boyd's Jig & Reel kicks off the spooky season with a signature drink Prince of Darkness, a pretty purple Halloween cocktail with Red Bull Blue Edition, Dripping Springs Artesian Orange Vodka, lemon juice, and Sprite. A tangy, sparkly drink to welcome All Hallows' Eve!

Brother Werewolf

Something wicked is brewing in Downtown Knoxville's Old City as Brother Wolf transforms into Brother Werewolf serving intoxicating libations from October 6-31, 2023. Send your inner beast howling into the night with cocktail specials like the bright blue Hocus Pocus made with Mezcal, Blue Curaçao, Bianco Vermouth and lemon juice; Wolves’ Blood (served in a blood bag) made with Vodka, Pomegranate, Hibiscus Tea, Orange Beet, and Lemon; and the Trick (mystery vodka shot) or Treat (peanut butter shot).

Coffee & Chocolate

The kids can keep their Halloween candy this year, because the adults are going to Coffee & Chocolate! Along with their original chocolates and macarons, they've conjured up bewitching Iced Pumpkin Cookies and Muffins to pair with their velvety Pumpkin Spice Latte, luminous Rose Matcha, and decadent Maple Latte. And if your soul seeks autumnal allure, their windows are painted with the essence of fall — a perfect backdrop for a magical memento!

Fat Tuesday

Fat Tuesday's world-famous daiquiris hail from the raucous city of New Orleans, known for its hauntings of ghosts, spirits, and vampires. This Halloween, the Gay Street store is casting a spell on us all with Swamp Water, Vampire Kiss, Monster Mash, and Spellbound.

Five Thirty Lounge

The bartenders at Five Thirty Lounge are brewing up some enchantment with The Spellbinder, a potion of vodka, crème violete, lime, simple, and sprite. Pair that with a spectacular fall rooftop view, and it's far from scary.

Fizz

Enter if you dare: Fizz on Market Square has Spooky Jewelry like you've never seen before. Elevate your Halloween wardrobe with bats, dragons and spider necklaces, earrings, rings, and more!

The French Market – Cocktails

There's no other way to say it ... The French Market Creperie has some scary good cocktails for the 21+ crowd. The Bloody Zombie, a spicy Bloody Mary; the Devil's Sour with bourbon, spiced cider and fresh orange juice; the Wicked Hot Fireball with spiced cider, cinnamon, and a sugar rim; and the Purple Bat with Empress Elderflower gin and sprite. Kids don't have all the fun!

The French Market – Crepes

No tricks, all sweets here! The French Market Creperie has created Wicked Cool crepes, like the Creepy Nutella with Butterfingers and caramel drizzle (don't steal your kid's candy; just order this), a Pumpkin Chiffon with candied walnuts, and the Creep Up – adding gummy worms to a sweet crepe – the kids will love it!

Frothy Monkey

You're in for some wicked cool specials at Frothy Monkey starting with the Spooky ‘N Stormy cocktail – a take on the dark ‘n stormy, featuring spiced rum with lime juice, ginger beer, and a black Fire pot chai syrup made with activated charcoal. Next, try the Grave Robber Dirty Chai (pictured), a classic dirty chai latte with a spooky twist: Firepot Chai with espresso, vanilla, nutmeg and activated charcoal.

Ham'n Goodys

Be the best house on the block by passing out these Halloween-themed Ham'n Goodys lemon cookies! Pre-order a dozen or more by calling 865-839-2215 to order from the Gay Street store where they'll be available from Oct 26-31. The delicious taste of the familiar lemon cookie with a fun twist everyone is sure to love!

Harvest

Head down to Harvest for a delicious fall cocktail paired with a seasonal menu. Start with a deep red cocktail called Fryer’s Fable with Weller Special Reserve Bourbon, pomegranate, lemon, lavender, orgeat, and Angostura Bitters. Then get lost in the Appalachian Elixir – green chartreuse, pineapple, lime, mint, and cucumber!

J.C. Holdway

J.C. Holdway is whipping up a drink that dates back to the 1870's. The Corpse Reviver No. 2 is a pre-Prohibition cocktail made with dry gin, Lillet blanc, orange liqueur, and lemon juice. It's said to be created and consumed for rousing the drinker from the dead—AKA cure hangovers and improve one’s morning. A trip to J.C. Holdway can improve just about anything!

K Brew

The eerie chill in the air is banished by K Brew's newest wizardry: the steaming hot and deliciously creamy Cinnamon Vanilla Latte. A brew steeped in shadows and magic, it's a delicious blend of fall-flavors, Cruze Farm milk, and espresso. A step up from witches brew, we think!

Kilwins

Kilwins can wrap up any of their yummy sweets, brittles, candied apples, and chocolate-covered treats in a Jack-O-Lantern Basket. It makes a great gift to take to a party, or you can use as a table centerpiece. Halloween will be extra sweet with one of these in hand! Plus, drop by on a Wednesday for BOGO waffle cones. What a treat!

Knox Brew Hub

Venture into Knox Brew Hub for your very own Halloween cup! For those brave enough to order up the witches brew (dark beer) from the tap wall, a bewitched take-away cup awaits (one per cusotmer while these wicked supplies last).

Knox Whiskey Works

Knox Whiskey Works has resurrected a ghostly delight once adored by the living! Dare to indulge your mortal cravings with the Drunken Pun’kin conjured with their very own coffee liqueur, dairy-free pumpkin spice creamer, and a spectral touch of whipped cream. It is devilishly delicious!

Knoxville Visitors Center

Head to the Knoxville Visitors Center for a fun custom Sunsphere Halloween Sticker with purchase of merchandise! The visitors center's gift shop is loaded with locally-made t-shirts, hats, posters, and more and will be decked out in Halloween decor too!

Mahalo Coffee Roasters

Introducing: The Wild Cide, the hottest cider on the block! Mahalo Coffee Roasters has captured everything good about this season and put it in a delicious blood-red beverage. The cranberry apple cider is sweetened with caramel and topped with a housemade cinnamon whipped cream. They also have a latte called The Great Smoky Maple, which is decadent and sweet.

Maple Hall

In the cryptic underground corners of Maple Hall, order up a fall cocktail like you've never had before. Try the Bloody Mule with PostModern Kore vodka, sour cherry, and ginger beer; the Blackberry Bramble with Buffalo Trace bourbon, blackberry, and lemon; and the Caramel Apple with caramel vodka, apple puree, and lemon.

Merchants of Beer

Watch out for the Oogey Boogey Martini, a refreshing drink made with lime vodka, melon liqueur, pineapple juice, and just a hint of coconut cream. It's a delightful cocktail from Merchants of Beer in the Old City! And, they always have exceptional seasonal brews on tap and in their Grab-N-Go Market.

Nothing Too Fancy

Match the night with this deep black Custom Halloween TriBlend T-Shirt from Nothing Too Fancy. Let 'KNOX' spell its tale, with a jack-o-lantern moonlighting as the haunting "O". You'll find this online, or dare to tread their path on Union Ave!

Off the Wall Market is decked out in orange-and-black and spider balloons, bringing the Halloween spirit to Embassy Suites! Get your hands on some University of Tennessee Gear DARK MODE for the season!

Paris Woodhull Illustrations

Get your hands on the most adorable Halloween t-shirts and sweatshirts from Paris Woodhull Illustrations! She designed and screen-printed them right in her studio/shop on the 100 block of Gay Street, and they are "boo" cute to pass up! The store will also have spooky coloring sheets outside the shop during open hours.

Pete's Restaurant

For a limited time every year, Pete's serves up fall breakfast specials that will get you into the Halloween spirit! Who can say no to pumpkin spice pancakes, waffles, and French toast covered in powdered sugar and syrup?!

The Phoenix Pharmacy & Fountain

If an ice cream hankering haunts your taste buds, The Phoenix Pharmacy & Fountain awaits with a bewitched spread of autumnal sundaes (we've even heard they're leaning into a Harry Potter Theme for Halloween). Pictured here is The Great Pumpkin – two generous scoops of homemade pumpkin pie ice cream nestled on a bed of shortbread cookie crumbles, caramel sauce, and a dollop of housemade whipped cream. You have to visit this season!

Preservation Pub

Dare to go to new heights – Preservation Pub's rooftop is ready for Wicked Cool! Sip on a Bruce's Brew made with Red Raspberry Vodka, cranberry, pineapple, and ginger beer, or a Spooky Bones Shooter with Malibu, rumchata, and pineapple – while overlooking all the Halloween decorations on Market Square.

Pretentious Beer Co

Pretentious Beer has brewed up a breakfast stout they call Brekkie. It's a chocolate oatmeal stout base loaded with Ghostown bourbon barrel aged maple syrup and Madagascar vanilla beans. And you can drink it all day!

Pretentious Glass Co

Odds are, you're familiar with Pretentious Glass Co's handblown pumpkins, and again this year, they've created something more sinister –⁠ a Metallic Skull Mug to sip your wicked brews. Every piece is handmade in the Old City. Plus this year they're adding a variety of colors and styles to add to your handmade Halloween collection.

This Halloween season, grab a festive bag of Zombie Mix from Proper Popcorn in Market Square. This eerie concoction melds grape, orange, and green apple popcorn flavors, bewitching your taste buds with a candy-like charm. It's an otherworldly sensation that's taking everyone by storm!

Radius Rooftop Lounge

Dare to indulge? 👻 Radius Rooftop Lounge conjured up two spooky cocktails for their Haunted Rooftop Disco on Saturday, October 28. Try Bedknobs & Broomstick or Bad To The Bone! Which spellbinding cocktail will you choose?

Rala

Rala always has the best greeting cards, puzzles, and gifts for every occasion, and Halloween is no exception. Swing by their store in the Old City for Spooktacular Merch, along with the first ever "Haunted Art Show"—a collaborative exhibition of creepy, eerie, spine-tingling, and all around haunted art pieces from multiple local artists, on exhibit (and for sale) through October 30.

Rocket Fizz

Trick or treat! You'll want to venture to Rocket Fizz for all things Halloween candy, from pumpkin-shaped chocolates and candy corn to skull and ghost-shaped Peeps. Along with the awfully delicious collection of candies, they also have Beetlejuice jigsaw puzzles and more, to celebrate the season!

The Spice & Tea Exchange

The Spice & Tea Exchange will feature the Pick Your Poison Recipe Series. These fun tea-infused cocktail recipes include Witch’s Love Potion, Bloody Mary’s Curse, Black Widow, Boozy Pumpkin Pie Malt, and Blue Voodoo Magik. Sampling in store from October 27—31. And for the entire month of October, get wicked discounts on all pick your poison recipe bundles. A spook-tacular time.

Starbucks on Gay Street

At Starbucks on Gay Street only, dive into the Witch’s Brew: a cold brew with toffee nut and hazelnut syrup, topped with vanilla sweet cream, caramel drizzle, and cookie crumble; Brain Batter: a blended pink drink with extra strawberry purée; Nightmare Before Christmas Mocha: black and white peppermint mocha with white mocha cold foam; and The Great Pumpkin Latte: iced pumpkin spice latte with matcha cold foam! What a spooky season!

Status Dough

Trick or treat, be so sweet, give me something good to eat! Bite into a light and puffy yeast doughnut raised to perfection (vanilla or chocolate) from Status Dough with a festive twist: Halloween Sprinkles. Fun for kids and adults alike!

Tern Club

This bewitching concoction is a blend of crisp vodka, tantalizing sour apple schnapps, and invigorating sour mix that creates a burst of flavors. Tupelo Honey
